1.8.x Upgrade Note: To upgrade from a 1.7.x, please follow these instructions:
1) Uninstall your current ZNS software, but do not uninstall the database and License key when you're asked.
2) Update the HP4000EX hybrid driver from the Device Manager under DVR Devices, if it's installed.
3) Reboot the computer.
4) Install the 1.8.x ZNS software and select Yes to use the Existing Database.

Some Helpful Hints

Keeping accurate time on windows XP On a windows XP system there are two clocks. One is hardware based on the motherboard that is read by the BIOS and the other is software based located in the windows operating system.
The BIOS Clock, also known as the Real Time Clock (RTC), is lousey at keeping accurate time because of temperature, voltage, pressure, and maybe phases of the moon. The windows clock initially gets its time during boot up from the BIOS. But this can be updated by third party NTP programs or by the built-in Internet time update in the windows clock.
If you are connected to the Internet, the windows Internet time will update once a week.
You can force an update by:

Right-clicking the time display,
choose "Adjust Date/Time,"
Select "Internet Time" Tab, be sure that "Automatically synchronize," is checked and then
Select "Update Now."
Select apply.

If you want to synchronize more than once a week:

Run Regedit (NOTE: Running regedit can be very damaging to your system if you make any mistakes. Backup the registery first.)
Find the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient
Select "SpecialPollInterval"
Change decimal value in seconds for how often you want to synchronize the time,

1 hour = 3600 seconds
1 day = 86400 seconds

Security Center and rundll32.exe troubles If you have an Intel Motherboard and Windows Security Center doesn't open and you have problem shutting down Windows with rundll32.exe requiring "End Now," the high definition Control panel applet may be the the cause.

Download and installed: TweakUI at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Open TweakUI from C:\Windows\Stytem32\TweakUI and go down the list to "Control Panel," below "My Computer.
Uncheck the box next to the applet was named "idtsg.cpl" and restart the computer.
